Looking around the kitchen, it’s hard to believe that just a few months ago, this was all just an image in my head. From the hand-painted cabinets to the sanded wooden floors, I worked hard to bring everything in my imagination to life. And now, as I admire my work, I can’t help feeling slightly smug that after seven years, I’ve turned my passion into a business.
Ever since I was a teenager, and preparing to take my exams, I’d dreamed of working in medicine. So when I was 18 I began training as a nurse at a local hospital. It was long hours of study paired with practical training, but while it should have been exhausting when I started working at a hospital in 1978, I adored my career.
