‘I'm scared I'll LOSE HIM'

She has never been far away from drama and heartbreak since she started playing the character Sonia Fowler on EastEnders in 1993, and life away from Albert Square hasn’t been easy for Natalie Cassidy, either.

The actor was just 19, and at the height of her fame, when she lost her mum Evelyn, aged 63, to bowel cancer, in 2002. Now Natalie, 37, has confessed that it brought up old feelings of grief when her father, Charles, recently fell ill, and got her worried about losing him too – especially as she has such a close relationship with him.

In an Instagram post, she wrote, ‘Last few days have been a bit of a challenge. ’.

‘Daddy hasn’t been very well, nothing major, but it makes you realise they aren’t going to be around forever.’

A close relationship

Natalie has an extremely close relationship with her father, which she says is down to the fact that they’ve supported each other in the years since Evelyn’s passing.

Charles even liveswith Natalie, her two daughters, Eliza, 10,and Joanie, four, as well as her EastEnders cameraman fiancé Marc Humphreys
