Need to lose weight fast? Follow our simple plan and shed 7lb in seven days…
If you’ve only a week to go before you bare all on the beach, don’t panic. ‘it is possible to turn your weight around in a week,’ says nutritionist Lily Soutter. ‘and you certainly don’t have to starve yourself to get results. ‘The first thing to do is cut down carbs and sugars. Carbs break down sugar in the bloodstream and this is stored in the muscles and liver as glycogen that binds to water. By avoiding bread, pasta, couscous and potatoes you’ll drop water pounds. You’ll lose fat pounds by eating fibrous vegetables, good quality proteins and healthy fats. These balance blood sugar levels, reduce hunger pangs and make it easier to burn stored fat.’
WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO
1 Cut out carbs
Swap pasta for spiralised vegetables and instead of rice have cauliflower ‘rice’.
2 Increase your vegetable intake
Vegetables contain carbohydrates too, but they’re extremely nutritious foods, high in fibre and low in sugar and calories.
3 Eat protein with every meal
Eggs, fish, chia seeds and nuts will all keep you satiated, speed up the metabolism and keep blood sugar levels steady.
4 No snacking
The meals on the diet plan are designed to keep you full. When your blood sugar levels are steady, cravings are reduced.
