Now the weather is warmer, you might want to wear sandals, which is why at this time of the year I often get an influx of people who’ve taken a good look at their feet for the first time in a while and may have some health concerns.

Fungal nail infections are common and, although they aren’t serious, they can take a long time to treat. You may have more than one nail affected and the infection may start at the edge of the nail before spreading to affect the whole thing. The nail may become discoloured and thickened, as well as being brittle, meaning that pieces or even the entire nail lifts or breaks off.
