The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will celebrate a very different kind of Christmas this year after stepping down as senior members of the Royal Family. An insider reveals what the Sussexes have planned for the holidays in America, from charity work to eco-friendly decorations.
And, with the pandemic threatening the Queen’s own plans to host the family at Sandringham, the Sussexes may not be alone in breaking with tradition this year.
A VERY DIFFERENT CHRISTMAS
Having relocated across the pond and moved into their first ‘family home’ in Santa Barbara, it’s no surprise Harry and Meghan are spending Christmas there this year.
An insider tells Woman, ‘Meghan and Harry will be spending the holiday season at their new house in Santa Barbara, and they’re excited to be together as a family in America.’
Despite being relatively new to the area, Harry, 36, and Meghan, 39, won’t be entirely alone for the holiday season. ‘They’ll be spending a ton of time with [Meghan’s mother] Doria, of course, plus a couple of close friends from Meghan’s side and the possibility of Harry’s British bestie Tom [Inskip] flying in from England at some point before or after Christmas Day. But on the 25th it’ll be just Meghan, Harry, Archie and Doria – and they’re looking to create their own traditions in a relaxed, intimate setting that won’t be bound by too many rules. Meghan’s relieved to be away from the stuffy traditions like shooting or other awkward British customs that simply don’t sit well with her.’
