Going through a big break-up even once is enough to put some people off the idea of love for life. But Fern Britton, after two marriages, is looking on the bright side and has revealed she’s truly grateful for where life has led her – and Woman understands she’s now thinking of what might be next!
The author, 64, previously revealed she is ‘open to anything’, and added, ‘Suddenly, the world is my oyster.’ So will it be third time lucky for Fern?
Processing
Former This Morning host Fern split from her second husband, TV chef Phil Vickery, after 20 years in 2020, and her first marriage to Clive Jones lasted for 12 years, ending in 2000.
But she has insisted that, far from feeling resentment towards her former husbands, she doesn’t class her marriages as failures. She said, ‘We all expect a marriage to be 70 years long with the love of your life and never a cross word and all of that. But it isn’t that. It’s much harder.’
Discussing her split from Phil, she added, ‘We simply needed to follow our own paths. Over time we realised we weren’t necessarily having the kind of life we once did. It seemed right to say “thank you” and move on.’
And we’re told that, now she’s had a year to process things, Fern isn’t ruling out dating – and beyond.
