Jilly Cooper’s guide is laughable in 2018
Novelist Jilly Cooper has revealed her shame at rereading her 1969 bestseller, How To Stay Married.
The author of Riders claims she feels ‘foolish’ for offering relationship advice, after flicking through the book for the first time in years.
Jilly says, ‘What a smug, opinionated, little know-it-all I was back then. I have never practised what I preached.’
I’ve had a look at her rules to see if any stand up to the pressures of 2018 relationships.
