It’s a movie match-up the studios have been keen on for the past two decades, and it seems Demi Moore and Russell Crowe might finally agree to team up in a major blockbuster.

According to Hollywood insiders, there’s a “hot new spy thriller” on the desks of major production company bosses, “which is tailor-made for Russell and Demi as onscreen lovers. Think Mr & Mrs Smith but with an older couple.”

Both Russell, 57, and Demi, 59, have had a quiet few years at the box office, with sources saying their respective agents are “pushing hard for them both to sign on the dotted line for this movie”.
