Now they’re cooking up new plans!

When Woman’s Day breaks out the bubbles at our celebratory photo shoot with Chris and Bex Wright the morning after their big win on My Kitchen Rules New Zealand, the faintest of grimaces flashes across their faces.

“Well, we won $100,000 last night and we were at a pub when we found out,” explains Chris, who is nursing a nasty hangover. “We were crowded around a TV with friends and family, and after the big announcement, everyone rushed off to the bar and a fountain of alcohol was delivered.”

“Everybody was so happy – it was like the All Blacks had just won the World Cup!” adds a more chirpy Bex. “I was home by pumpkin hour, but he went on to continue the night.”

Chris confesses, “I can’t remember what time I got back to the hotel. I had to be woken up by a publicist massaging my temples this morning.”

Laughing, Bex jokes, “I’m sure it was more of a whack – she doesn’t get paid enough for that!”
