Short Story : Ghar ghar ki webinar kahani

Vaishnavi worked as a lecturer at ABC College. Husband Deendayal was an accountant in a private company. They had two children – a son Satyadev aged 10, and a daughter Satvika aged 8. They led a peaceful simple middleclass life in a cozy house located in a small town nestled in the foothills of the Western Ghats.

Deendayal had a medium ranking job in his company. His bosses were happy with his sincerity at work. Satyadev and Satvika were very obedient children, doing well in their school with their studies and other extracurricular activities. There was never a complaint about either of them from their teachers during the parent-teacher meetings. And Vaishnavi too was well appreciated by her management and students for being a dedicated lecturer. The foursome four led a simple life without indulging in any glamour or glitz. Rather, they spent their time and money in helping the needy in their own way, and always wishing good for the world. ‘Sarve janaa sukhino bhavantu’ was the mantra of their lives.

They followed a normal weekday routine – Vaishnavi would prepare breakfast and lunch in the early morning, pack snacks and lunch boxes for herself, Deendayal, Satyadev, and Satvika. Deendayal would drop off the kids to school on his way to the office. Vaishnavi would leave after seeing off her husband and kids, as she had to commute to her workplace which was in the other end of the town. Come evening, all four would return home and unwind themselves after the long day at school and work, by sharing some stories of school and their respective offices.
