"Sound baths cured my chronic anxiety!"
Woman's World
|September 26, 2022
After decades of living in a state of near panic that medication couldn't quell, Kathy Harmon-Luber's love of music led her to a surprising therapy that helped her finally find calm-and joy!
As she chatted with fellow artists at her California mountain village's art show, Kathy Harmon-Luber smiled and for the first time in a long time it was a genuine one. It's so nice to finally be truly happy, she beamed.
Having battled anxiety since she was a teenager, for decades Kathy's smile had masked the current of panic pulsing through her. And her anxiety not only left her feeling constantly on edge but also put her health at risk.
Kathy suffered from Raynaud's disease, which causes severe nerve pain and blood vessels to constrict and block blood flow, usually in fingers and toes, in response to cold, stress and anxiety. Flare-ups made it difficult for Kathy, an award-winning photographer and artist, to work. She had also developed stress-induced asthma.
Over the years, Kathy's doctors had prescribed medications to treat her anxiety, but the effects were always short-lived. Then a few years ago, Kathy had an idea. A lifelong musician, Kathy had always found sound to be relaxing, and she began to wonder if she could use it to control her anxiety and stress.
