Previously confined to a cramped space, Look What You've Done (LWYD) required an environment that could support its expanding portfolio and the dynamic energy of its young team. Tall Storeys Collaborative came to the rescue and designed a space that was conceptualised not merely as a place of work but as a physical manifestation of the agency's offbeat spirit, balancing creative demands with a modest construction budget.
One of the core challenges in the design was creating a space that supports both individual and collaborative work, essential for a creative agency like LWYD. Tall Storeys Collaborative focused on how extended working hours impacted space usage, leading to a layout that maximises functional work areas while incorporating zones for relaxation and informal collaboration.
HUB FOR INNOVATION
Rejecting traditional corporate office designs, the architects chose to punctuate the open plan with suspended green planters that act as subtle space dividers, creating little 'ecosystems' for individual teams to work in, while also contributing to a sense of openness and connectivity. This strategy balanced the advantages of an open plan office while ensuring that employees were able to avoid distractions and disruptions from neighbouring zones.
