There is little doubt that the Sonet is one of the breadwinners for Kia in India. The company has sold over 3,68,000 units of the Sonet globally and the major chunk of that has been sold in India. So it was obvious that India being the key market for the Sonet, the company would choose to do a global premiere here. Say hello then to the new Kia Sonet.
Being a mid-life facelift, changes to the design are not very substantial, and one has to have a keen eye to spot them. The headlamps have been revised with a new halo for the DRLs and then there is the grille which in spite of retaining the Tiger Nose theme is different. The front bumper too sees minor changes and overall the front end looks fresher but not distinctively different from the outgoing version. In profile, not much has changed. The silhouette of the Sonet remains the same but Kia now offers new designs for the alloys which add to the sporty appeal of the SUV. At the back, the Sonet now looks even more dynamic thanks to the connected tail light. The bumper too has been given a mild redesign. Kia will also offer a matte colour palette for those opting for the X Line variant.
