It’s got no headroom, no legroom, can only accommodate two folks, no cabin storage, you sit very low, and ingress and egress are worst. Moreover, every other car will look down on you, and still, when you crank up and get the hood down - the Lamborghini Huracan EVO Spyder is an emotion complicated to explain. It’s a blissful romance. Its open-top design invites you to indulge in a thrilling and passionate affair with the wind in your hair and the world at your fingertips. It seduces your senses and entwines you in a symphony of speed, style and unbridled passion, which will ridicule all its impracticality. It’s a car you buy to indulge and celebrate yourself, and you go on a drive with it and not with someone.
Its 5.2-litre V10 Petrol Engine now chucks out 631bhp and 600Nm of torque. It’s naturally aspirated and devastatingly fast on road and track alike. Lamborghini EVO Spyder is less of a car and more of a mobile shrine for the V10 worship. It’s like an ageing rock star that will still sell out stadiums. It comes with a seven-speed twin-clutch gearbox, an electrically-folding cloth roof, a top speed north of the magic 321 kmph and a noise that will wake the dead, make them grin, and shout them to death all over again. It screams and reaches 0-100 kmph in 3.1 seconds. But the true magic of the EVO Spyder lies in its ability to transform every drive into an unforgettable experience. The soft-top roof gracefully retracts at the push of a button, inviting the sun and the symphony of nature to embrace you.

IMPRACTICAL YET IRRESISTIBLE
Exactly ten years ago, I took my first international trip. It was to Bahrain, a country of endless desert and skyscrapers, where my aunt and uncle lived. Among their friends and neighbours, one particular gentleman, upon learning I was a budding petrolhead, took an entire day off work to take me around the city’s showrooms to see some “normal” Middle East traffic.
