The Smart Manufacturing Summit 2023, hosted by Manufacturing Today and presented by Signify, brought industry leaders and innovators together to explore the future of manufacturing. With interactive sessions on retrofitting, innovative solutions, and supply chain logistics, it emphasised the readiness for smart manufacturing.
Bibhor Srivastava, Managing Director, ITP India, set the tone for the summit as he took the stage and delivered a warm welcome address. He highlighted the numerous initiatives undertaken by ITP and set the foundation for a thought-provoking summit.
In his keynote speech, Mahesh Babu, CEO-Global at Switch Mobility, emphasized the transformative impact of India's net-zero commitment on the auto industry and manufacturing sector. He discussed the shift towards electric mobility and the role of smart manufacturing in supporting this transition. Babu highlighted the skill-related challenges of Industry 4.0 and stressed the importance of government and stakeholder engagement for long-term industry sustainability.
During his industry address, Suryanarayan Tripathi, Product Marketing Manager-Office and Industry at Signify, highlighted the impact of global trends like sustainability, continuous improvement, safety, and well-being on manufacturing facilities. He also discussed the significant boost expected for the manufacturing industry through government initiatives such as the PLI scheme, which focuses on segments like electric vehicles, textiles, and power, with an investment outlay of Rs 2 lakh crore over the next five years.
