What best practices are organisations following to improve cybersecurity and data privacy preparedness?
As brands look to cloud technologies, artificial intelligence and machine learning to harness their collated data for business insight, the need to set best practices in cybersecurity and data privacy has never been more urgent. While most businesses are strengthening access control, and formulating internal policies around vulnerabilities such as the use of personal devices and internet-of-things (IoT) devices, more has to be done at the network and cloud layer through technology to improve the business' posture on security and privacy.
The reality is that even the Indian government felt the need to organise a National Cyber Security Incident Response Exercise (NCX India). This has highlighted that the private sector can no longer ignore the threats of an impending cybersecurity crisis and the possibility of personal and business data ending up in the wrong hands. Although, India currently does not have a standalone law on data privacy, much of the Information Technology Act 2000 serves as the foundation for data protection.
In today's IT environments, regulatory requirements may be vague and undefined, and it is up to businesses to adopt a powerful cloud security solution that hyper scales across public and private clouds, backed by an always-on support team. This provides business continuity and protects the infrastructure safeguarding mission-critical applications and data while providing a standard to uphold data privacy and protection.
What are the biggest issues that companies must address from a privacy perspective when they suffer a data security incident?
