FURIOUS car racer Denny Hamlin was fuming more than gas exhaust from his No. 11 Toyota after a massive pileup wrecked his chances to finish the Coke Zero Sugar 400 — costing him valuable points in the race for top NASCAR driver.
After coming in 38th out of 40 cars and not officially finishing, the 43-year-old Hamlin was fit to be tied and unloaded on driver Corey LaJoie, 32, who finished 34th, blaming him for the traffic jam at Daytona International Speedway on Aug. 24.
“In this case, Denny isn’t accusing Corey of driving aggressively in causing the big crackup — he’s accusing him of driving poorly and getting in his way when he didn’t have to,” a source says.
