Looking after our mind and body is key to our wellbeing and, now more than ever, people are searching for the latest ways to improve our lifestyles - whether that's overhauling our exercise regime, opting for a new skincare routine or taking a step back for some much-needed R&R.
With the quest for living longer and healthy ageing predicted to dominate for 2025, where do these wellness trends come from? Celebrity nutraceutical expert and founder of GP Nutrition, Gabriela Peacock, explains, "These trends often stem from a mix of new research, ancient traditions and cultural influences, combined with the power of social media to spread new ideas quickly.
"Platforms like Instagram and Tik Tok play a huge role in spreading these trends, as do celebrities, influencers and wellness professionals." While some trends vanish as quickly as they appear, those supported by scientific evidence tend to remain because they are genuinely effective.
Gabriela tells us, "Following awellness trend can be incredibly beneficial. It might introduce you to a new habit, such as mindfulness, intermittent fasting or Pilates, that transforms your health. Mentally, simply feeling part of a larger community who are all embracing the same practice can be motivating and encouraging.
"Trends can be a fantastic way of shining a spotlight on innovative practices or traditional wisdom we may not have encountered otherwise. That said, education is key - make sure you look fortrustworthy sources and ensure the trend isn't just a quick fix but something that can truly better your health and daily life."
