When self-professed “potty mouth” Faye Winter first appeared on our TV screens from the Love Island villa last summer, we had a feeling it wasn’t going to be the last we’d see of her.
Famed for her relentless sarcasm, no-nonsense attitude and rib-tickling one-liners – not to mention her infamous chocolate brown lipstick – the Devon-born reality star is now turning her expertise from cussing to cooking.
Alongside McFly’s Danny Jones, comedian Kae Kurd, media personality Nancy Dell’Olio and actor Paul Chuckle, Faye is soon set to appear as a contestant on the upcoming series of Celebrity MasterChef.
Though she might have initially considered herself clueless with cooking, 27-yearold Faye told new this week that getting out of her comfort zone has done wonders for her confidence.
“MasterChef has made me realise I can do different things,” she laughs. “I thought, ‘OK, here’s another challenge, chuck it at me and let’s hope I enjoy it,’ but it was brilliant!”
After trying to nominate her Love Island beau and alleged fussy eater Teddy Soares, also 27 – with whom she landed third place during last year’s finale – as her “professional food taster”, Faye began preparing for the intense scrutiny from judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode.
“If I’m under pressure and I’m really stressed, I go really quiet,” she says. “I was like, ‘No one talk to me, I’m in my zone!’, but the judges come over and chat with you, so I’m trying not to be rude because they’re legends, but at the same time, I just wanted to tell them to go away so I don’t give them food poisoning!”
