'I will beat cancer, vows brave Kate

The Princess of Wales has defiantly vowed to win her battle with cancer “by focusing on the thingsthat will help me heal”.

After months of speculation about her whereabouts during her absence from royal duties following planned abdominal surgery, Kate, 42, addressed the nation on Friday evening.

She shared a personal and moving statement detailing the last few months and said discovering she had the disease was a “huge shock”. She said she was undergoing chemotherapy.

Kate also thanked the public for their messages of support and said, “It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me.

“In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought my condition was non-cancerous.
