Juggling the demands of two young children while being pregnant is no mean feat, but Binky Felstead is taking it in her stride.
Although she tells us she’ll be putting her feet up after our interview, the former Made In Chelsea star, 32, who is expecting a baby boy this spring, admits looking after her 21-month-old son Wolfie while expecting does “take its toll”.
Binky, also mum to daughter India from her relationship with Josh Patterson, says, “It’s knackering having a toddler as well as a five-year-old. Wolfie’s very into Mummy at the moment – lots of cuddles, lots of picking up.
“Walking up the stairs and lifting him is basically a workout in itself! And I’m quite big. I think the third time around my body is just a little bit more used to stretching out and my joints are a bit sore this time. I’m just a bit tired to be honest.”
This pregnancy hasn’t been easy for Binky, who is married to businessman Max Darnton. Earlier this year she was diagnosed with gestational diabetes [high blood sugar during pregnancy] and said at the time that she was suffering from “pure exhaustion”.
Here, Binky opens up about her plans to give her baby a “wild” name, why self-care is so vital and who she relies on for mothering advice…
Hi, Binky! Your due date is fast approaching. Are you all set for the new arrival?
It’s all very exciting, if slightly daunting. Max and I were two weeks off [with the due date], so we’ve given ourselves two weeks less, because I got the dates wrong, being me. We’ve got an induction booked to make sure he’s not going to be late!
How are India and Wolfie feeling about welcoming a new sibling?
