HITTING the right NOTE

Danielle Macdonald knows a thing or two about following her heart and her passion. At the age of 18, she left her home town of Sydney behind and headed to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. She’s never looked back. Now, 12 years later, the 31-year-old is hitting the big screen again with her first lead in a rom-com alongside Joanna Lumley and two leading men, Hugh Skinner and Shazad Latif, in Falling for Figaro. She plays American Millie Cantwell, who quits her high-powered finance job to chase her dream of being an opera singer. “I grew up on rom-coms,” she tells WHO over Zoom from her home in LA. “They make me happy and there’s always been a joy for me watching them, so to get the opportunity to be in one, particularly one with a quirky sense of humour, was really fun.”
