Diabetes is a lifestyle-related D disease that cannot be cured but can be managed. It is caused by abnormally high blood glucose levels. Pancreatic insulin is responsible for maintaining glucose levels in the blood. Diabetes is caused by a lack of insulin, insufficient insulin synthesis, or an inability to appropriately utilise insulin.
Studies reveal that there is no specific treatment for diabetes, but that a range of lifestyle changes need to be incorporated into daily life.
Along with these lifestyle changes, sustainable prevention plans need to be put in place to help not just manage but even prevent diabetes.
