NEW DRAMA

Crossfire Mon-Wed, 9pm, BBC1 (box set, iPlayer)

The team behind The Salisbury Poisonings and The Responder have come up with another absorbing drama in BBC1’s nail-biting three-part thriller Crossfire, penned by Apple Tree Yard writer Louise Doughty and shown over three nights this week.

Keeley Hawes takes on her toughest role to date as ex-copper and mum-of-three Jo, who’s on a luxury holiday in the Canary Islands with husband Jason (Lee Ingleby), her children, and their group of best friends when shots ring out by the resort’s pool.

As several holiday-makers are savagely gunned down by a gang of snipers out for revenge, there’s chaos as the survivors desperately try to flee for safety, becoming separated from their loved ones in the process.
