MUM'S the word!

EMMERDALE MONDAY-FRIDAY, 7.30PM, ITV SOAP

Although there is nothing new about teenage pregnancies in soaps, could anyone have honestly predicted that Emmerdale’s innocent Amelia Spencer would be the next schoolgirl to find herself expecting?

Only a select few know the secret that Dan’s God-fearing daughter is keeping, but this week the whole of the village discovers 15-year-old Amelia is in the family way and all hell breaks loose!

In an exclusive interview with TV Times, Daisy Campbell, 19, tells us why she’s pleased her character is being put through the emotional wringer, and shares her memories of joining the Yorkshire soap when she was just seven years old…

Does Amelia have any regrets about keeping the baby?

Not at this point. Amelia is still very into her faith, which played a massive part in why she didn’t have an abortion. With Noah’s support, she feels like everything is falling into place.

Can she trust Noah after the way he treated her in the past?

He was so awful to her before, wasn’t he? She has slowly started to trust him since he’s been looking out for her with the pregnancy and it’s pushed them together as a proper couple, but I think it’s in the back of her head what he can be like.

Is she worried about disappointing Dan?

Dan still sees her as a little girl but she’s growing up and he has to accept that – he is in denial. Amelia wanted to tell Dan about the pregnancy on his own but it all comes out before she gets a chance!

Do you think that she’ll make a good mum?
