In the ever-changing world of skincare, suncare is one of the fastest-growing categories that has revolutionised itself in the recent past. With each sunscreen launch, the industry is becoming more modern and advanced. The latest innovation in the making? SPF that suits those with an active lifestyle. Truth be told, they are the ones that struggle the most with finding the right formula, as sunscreen combined with sweat is simply a disaster waiting to happen. This led to the creation of FRÉ, an international skincare brand that has now launched in India. Michael Azoulay, co-founder of the brand, tells us more about their breakthrough patented complex, Argania Active Complex™ (AAC), anti-sweat formulas, and their upcoming launches.
GRAZIA: What led to the creation of FRÉ?
MICHAEL AZOULAY: The brand was founded to swap the sticky, goopy, and chalky sunscreen for lightweight and luxurious products powered by age-defying actives, potent mineral protection, and feel-good formulations. The result is clean, science-backed suncare plus skincare that helps protect from sun damage and repair visible ageing.
G: In a saturated sunscreen industry, what makes the brand’s SPFs stand out?
MA: We’re not a classic suncare company. We have decided to formulate our SPF with the healthiest and cleanest UV filters. The sunscreens are also treating the skin with our patented complex, which fights the long-term effect of UV damage and prevents premature ageing. For a feel-good element, we’ve included experiential elements such as texture, aromatherapy scents, and a glow effect on our GLOW ME+, a tinted SPF moisturiser with a skin tone adapting function.
G: Tell us more about the patented complex, Argania Active Complex™ (AAC), which is infused in all your skincare products. What made you choose argan oil as the star ingredient?
