HER NEW ROLE

Maximum City is having a moment currently. A week full of global events have unfolded in Mumbai, and fashion was at the forefront of them. IG feeds were crammed for days with flashing invites, archival couture, and luxury custom fits – the red-carpet frenzy was real. But what’s a red carpet without Sonam Kapoor Ahuja? She’s been in a cozy London-Mumbai-Mommy state-of-being, but India’s global fashion citizen was back to where she belonged in monotone dusty pink Dior with her mother’s vintage pearls and a bejewelled mini vanity, archival Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla made from 20 unique panels of embroidery, and made-to-measure JJ Valaya couture. In the midst of all this fashion mayhem, the actor, who’s currently nursing her seven-month-old, took some precious time out to shoot for our 15th anniversary cover – it was only poetic that our working theme for this was celebrating iconic pieces by some of our best-known Indian talent.
