AFTER HOURS

This season gave us all things shiny for men too. Siddartha Tytler presented heavy silver embroidery in forms of sequinned animal and bird motifs on sheer fabrics while Mahima Mahajan's sparkles were in the form of elegant motifs akin to silver waves on a black modern-style kurta set paired with a skinny scarf around the neck.

With Khanijo's tribute to Rajasthan's culture and Vivek Karunakaran's homage to Chennai and Tamil Nadu - in a range of zardozi, kantha and appliqué, designers displayed their own signature take on various embroidery techniques this season.

We saw narrative wordings in local languages, stitched onto traditional silhouettes with modern details like zipper jackets and suits - honouring Indian craftsmanship.
