You can run, you can hide, but you can't escape the Reply Guy

You know you’re chronically online when the person who watches your Instagram stories the most is you. Pardon the self obsession, but it’s fair to say that we are our biggest fans. Or we were, until the Reply Guy came into the picture. You know who I’m talking about? He’s the first one to see your IG story as soon as it’s up, the first one to react to it with the heart-eyes emoji (or the fire emoji, if it’s a thirst trap; IYKYK), the first one to reply to your story...you get the drift. He has something to say every time you post on social media; whether you engage with him or not, doesn’t matter. We all have a Reply Guy in our lives, but the lore of it can be traced back to 2019 when X was known as Twitter.
