Bathed in the soft glow of an unusually hot autumn, our footsteps echoed in the historic corridors of the Hermès Paris Faubourg Saint-Honoré. An exclusive tour of the private museum awaited us, revealing a curated blend of Hermès craftsmanship and equestrian grandeur. The highlighted exhibits were all about the gaze; le regard if you will, French for "the gaze" or "the look."
This nostalgic journey served as a prelude to the day's main event: the much-anticipated launch of Le Regard Hermès. As the narrative shifted from past to present, we were whisked away to the upper floors of the store where the beauty of the gaze took center-stage, urging us to find and appreciate the beauty in every corner of our lives. In an atmosphere rich with anticipation, all eyes were intently fixed-the "gaze" being central to the event - as Gregoris Pyrpylis, the creative director of Hermès Beauty, introduced the collection.
Le Regard Hermès is the house's newest chapter in the beauty métier. From eyeshadow palettes imbued with the silkiness of Hermès fabrics to mascaras inspired by the house's iconic colours, the collection encapsulates the very essence of the brand-timeless, luxurious, and undeniably Hermès. It was Hermès whispering its legacy through eyeshadows and mascaras - a fusion of heritage and modernity. As I observed the first stroke of colour sweeping the model's eyelids, a realisation dawned: this was more profound than cosmetics. It celebrated the art of seeing and being seen.
