When one thinks of Bangkok, images of a bustling city with plenty to eat, see and shop immediately come to mind. The last thing you'll ever think about is how it can offer tranquillity and serenity.
But situated within Bangkok's "green lung", part of the conservation island of Bang Krachao along the Chao Praya river, is RAKxa Wellness & Medical Retreat, an oasis of calm in the midst of the loudness of Bangkok city.
Here, you're invited to leave your daily stresses behind. It's a place to reset your mind, realign your body and recharge your spirit as you embark on one of the many wellness programmes it offers. From Detox, Gut & Immunity Support and Well Relaxed, to Destress, Hormonal Balance and Weight Management, each stay is full-board and ranges from three to 14 nights, with options to extend.
WHERE SCIENCE MEETS TRADITION
An intimate sanctuary with just 42 villas, RAKxa blends modern science with traditional healing therapies seamlessly with the help of its three centres: RAKxa Jai, RAKxa Gaya and the VitalLife Scientific Wellness Clinic (a partnership with the anti-ageing clinic of Bumrungrad International Hospital, one of Thailand's most renowned healthcare institutions).
RAKxa Jai offers a myriad of massages and treatments, including traditional Asian practices - Ayurvedic, Chinese and Thai, energy healing therapies like singing bowl, reiki and charka balancing therapies, as well as Biologique Recherche facials.
The resort's fitness centre, RAKxa Gaya, is where you'll find state-of-the-art equipment. It's also where you can take a Functional Fitness assessment to evaluate your fitness level as well as identify risk areas of injury.
Lastly, the VitalLife Scientific Wellness Clinic features treatments and services focused on anti-ageing, from phototherapy and hyperbaric therapy to non-invasive aesthetic procedures.
