THIS is the final part of our Price Watch series that brings you a snapshot of how the prices of gardening products vary from store to store throughout the year. And more importantly, it shows you how to save money in the financially tough environment we are in today.
Our catchment area was mainly in the south and west, but we have found our key learnings to be indicative of the country as a whole.
This month we focused on products that many gardeners will be considering for early autumn – tomato feed for the last growbag crops and container flowers, slug pellets and deterrent wool pellets, autumn lawn feed and conditioner, and fruit tree glue bands and paste to stop winter moths.
What we discovered this time was that while we set out to price-check the same products, we found the job to be nigh on impossible because not all the outlets sold the same things.
