"I want to disrupt anyone's preconceived notion that drawing is only for rendering a photorealistic still life," says Amber Kempthorn, M.F.A., an assistant professor in the drawing department at the Cleveland Institute of Art. "Drawing is all sorts of things. It's a way of documenting, putting something on paper or a napkin or any other surface so that we can see a physical representation."
