The full-scale reinvention of this stately Victorian terrace in Sydney’s leafy eastern suburbs was one of those projects when the outcome fully met – and even surpassed – the expectations of all involved. For Suzanne Green, the interior architect and designer who masterminded the meticulous renewal project, the delight expressed by her clients following the final unveiling was reward indeed. All the sweeter, too, as she and the homeowners are now near neighbours. “After they moved in, they sent me a text message in capital letters saying, ‘We love the house!’ It really was a great experience, which was lucky, as they now live around the corner from me,” she laughs, adding: “We used to joke about how awkward it would be if something went sideways. But I certainly do feel that I got the brief right.”
