As she scrolled through countless vacation-rental websites, award-winning interior designer, author and speaker Ginger Curtis couldn't find what she was looking for. "I choose my vacation spots and Airbnbs based on the aesthetics and I thought, you know I can definitely solve this problem for myself and for other people," says Ginger, the owner of Urbanology Designs. The process led her to purchase this 1920s cottage in Weatherford, Texas, and create a new arm of her company: Urbanology Properties.
For Ginger, already a sought-after Texas designer, purchasing a home to renovate and operate as a vacation rental was more than just a fun side hustle. "I wanted to use it as a vehicle to drive business to the design firm," Ginger explains. With her love of branding, she curated every element of the renovation and design to tell the story of her business and extend her hospitality to guests. "I can't open my house to the world, but I can create this experience where you're invited to come stay," she says.
