However, for us, this Christmas feels a whole lot different. After just over 20 years in Singapore, we will be departing these shores and heading to Australia on a new adventure.
When we came to Singapore in 2003, it was just after SARS and the city was struggling. Apartments were plentiful and rents were cheap. If only we had bought an apartment at that time – how things have changed! It has been an incredible couple of decades. We have seen the construction of Marina Bay Sands and the Marina Bay Financial Centre, the commissioning of the NorthEast Line, the Circle Line, the Downtown Line and the Thomson-East Coast Line, the transformation of Clarke Quay and Dempsey Hill, the creation of the Sports Hub and a new terminal at Changi Airport.
