In a significant stride towards enhancing connectivity and boosting Goa's tourism and economy, the state witnessed the inauguration of the much-anticipated 6-Lane Access Controlled Link Road to the Manohar International Airport Mopa. This momentous event, held on a vibrant Thursday evening, brought together key figures in Indian governance and infrastructure, underscoring the transformative vision driving the state forward.
A Vision Realized Under Leadership
At the heart of this remarkable development is Goa's Hon'ble Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant, whose strategic foresight and leadership have been instrumental in bringing this project to fruition. The inauguration ceremony was graced by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, whose pivotal role in supporting and facilitating the project highlights the collaborative spirit between the Union and state governments.
Dr. Sawant's speech resonated with gratitude and optimism. He extended his heartfelt thanks to Union Minister Shri Gadkari and Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for their unwavering support, which has been crucial in the realization of this state-ofthe-art infrastructure. The Chief Minister emphasized the transformative impact this project will have on Goa, reducing travel time to the Manohar International Airport and significantly boosting tourism and the local economy.
The Mopa Link Road: A Gateway to Seamless Connectivity
The newly inaugurated 6-lane access-controlled link road, officially designated National Highway 166S, stretches nearly seven kilometers and represents a significant enhancement in Goa's infrastructure. This elevated corridor, which connects the airport to the Mumbai-Kanyakumari National Highway 66, promises to revolutionize travel within the state and beyond.
