TRIUMPH SPEED 400
The fruit of the Bajaj-Triumph JV which has been in the works since 2017 is finally here. The British marque have launched one of its two 400cc motorcycles, the Speed 400, for an introductory price of Rs 2.23 lakh, for the first 10,000 customers, after which, the roadster will retail for Rs 2.33 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom India). Packing a similar silhouette as its older Speed 1200 sibling, the Speed 400 gets a retro finish with all-LED lighting and a newly-developed 398cc, single-cylinder mill which makes 40 PS of power and 37.5 Nm of torque at 6,500rpm.
HARLEY-DAVIDSON X440
Similar to Bajaj, Hero recently tied up with Harley-Davidson to develop and launch the all-new X440 in India. Offered in multiple variants, the affordable Harley bike starts at Rs 2.29 lakh for the base Denim variant and goes all the way up to Rs 2.69 lakh for the top-spec 'S' variant. Powering it is an air/oil-cooled, 440cc, single-cylinder motor which makes 27 PS of power and 38 Nm of torque at just 4,000rpm.
BMW M 1000 RR
BMW is bringing a part of its WSBK legacy on the Indian roads, with the launch of the M 1000 RR. The superbike gets a hefty price tag of Rs 49 lakh (ex-showroom), without the M Competition Package, which will further hike up the price by Rs 6 lakh. What you get here though is a liquid-cooled, 999cc, inline-four engine making nearly 215 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque at 11,000rpm.
