My Fitness Routine: Akshay Oberoi

Akshay Oberoi has just wrapped up filming for the Deepika Padukone-Hrithik Roshan starrer Fighter, which is touted as one of the most anticipated Bollywood releases of 2024. "I'm probably most thrilled and excited about just being in that movie. I've had such a great time over the years shooting for it and now we're very close to the release of it," shares the 38-year-old, rather elatedly.

How important is fitness to you?

Fitness is very important to me because it's tied to my work. You've got to prioritise looking a certain way and mould your physical appearance for certain characters. Acting on a set is quite a laborious job. I keep joking that it's a donkey's labour. You need to have the energy for those 15 hours a day. Sometimes we start with a climax, sometimes with interval scenes. And, in one day, you end up doing so many different types of emotions. And you need your energy, you need stamina. So, fitness is not only the physicality of it - to look good on screen and to adapt the body for particular characters - it is needed in order to have the stamina to give my best every single day at work.
