I for one will be going to bed tonight and my door will not be locked," DC Bruce Harris tells the people of the haunted New Zealand town of Mt Affinity. "It is over." It is not over.
The disappearance of two Irish tourists at the centre of season one of The Gone might have been resolved - albeit with one of the tourists in the morgue and the town's mayor in custody but it soon becomes clear that Mt Affinity is still a dangerous place to be Irish.
DC Harris (Scott Wills) is still winding up his speech when Detective Theo Richter (Richard Flood) - last seen about to board a plane home to Ireland - emerges from a taxi and strides over to his local counterpart, Detective Diana Huia (Acushla-Tara Kupe), who is looking forward to heading back to work in the city.
"Have you seen Aileen?" he asks urgently.
