ARTHUR MENSCH
32 WIND OF CHANGE
By Elad Gil
Since meeting Arthur Mensch, I've admired his ability to combine bold vision with execution. Arthur's work as CEO of Mistral Al, one of a number of startups I have backed in the AI space, has placed him at the intersection of key trends that will make AI more accessible to billions of people from developing small, high-performance AI models that can run locally on smartphones and other devices to demonstrating the potential reach of an open-source (or open-core) approach.
Arthur has led the company's lightning-fast growth, releasing multiple AI models within one year of its founding in May 2023. He is a creative leader, championing a structure made up of small teams of four or five people that is designed to preserve innovation as Mistral scales. Arthur's commitment to democratizing AI has resulted in a platform where developers can innovate freely with flexible, open-source models. His foresight in addressing gaps overlooked by others has set Mistral apart and opened up the world of country- and language-specific Al. He is dedicated to advancing model efficiency at the technology's frontier and providing an AI alternative for everyone, everywhere.
LAUFEY
25 OTHERWORLDLY ARTIST
By Olivia Rodrigo
The first time I listened to Laufey's album Bewitched, I was captivated by her music and how she was able to build a singular world. I sent her a DM, you're the coolest girl ever-can we hang out? And that sparked a wonderful friendship.
Laufey makes jazz and classical music feel accessible to our generation. Her music is a place where everyone is welcome, and it's never pretentious. When she performs, she's maestroesque, playing so many instruments and hitting every note perfectly.

No rest for the songs of Wicked
THE WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST HAS BEEN A FIXTURE in American culture for nearly 125 years. After coming to life in 1900 with L. Frank Baum's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, she rose to prominence onscreen in 1939, portrayed by Margaret Hamilton as a sinister old lady intent on ruining an innocent girl's wish to go home.

Health Matters
COVID-19 MAY NOT BE A PUBLIChealth emergency anymore, but you still need your yearly shot. In fact, it seems to peak about twice a year: once during the traditional respiratory-disease season in the fall and winter, and once during summer.
