A LITTLE girl who spent over 500 days on a transplant waiting list has received the gift of a new heart.
Evie Green's parents went through a whirlwind of emotions during the five year-old's overnight operation.
The Mirror has followed Evie's fight for life since she fell ill and spent a year in Newcastle's Freeman Hospital.
Parents Chloe, 29, and David, 35, had to make 100-mile round trips to and from their home in Middlesbrough while looking after her big brother Theo, six.
Finally, the news they had been longing for came with a donor organ being found.
Chloe said: "It was a mismatch in terms of blood type but perfect in terms of antibodies.
