ALMOST 50 years after delighting the nation with a high-kicks routine on Morecambe and Wise, Angela Rippon is now the "dark horse" to win Strictly at the age of 79.
The former newsreader will be the oldest ever competitor on the dancing competition, but insiders say they have been astounded by her level of fitness.
She can still do the splits and regularly does ballet, tennis and Pilates, and many believe that even if she is not the best dancer, she will take the public with her.
