A BRITISH family stranded in wartorn Sudan were given hope after No10 last night announced it will run an extra evacuation flight today.
The UK rescue efforts from Wadi Seidna airbase near the capital Khartoum on Saturday.
But Foreign Secretary James Cleverly said a new flight will take off from Port Sudan before noon today.
Mum-of-four Sarra Eljak 38, and husband Mustafa Abbas, 44, feared it was too dangerous to travel to catch Saturday's evacuation flight.
Before Mr Cleverly's announcement they were expected to escape the deadly civil war by sailing to Saudi Arabia.
Sheltering in Wad Madani, they faced a perilous 800km trip to Port Sudan, coincidentally where the new flight will leave. Ms Eljak, a trainee GP, said: "I don't want to put my kids' life in danger. I feel we have been left without support."
