BROWN: I WILL NEVER RETIRE

MIKE BROWN has revealed why he will not allow retirement to cross his mind after signing a new Leicester contract to play into his 40th year.

The former England star feared his career was over after being cut by Newcastle in 2022 and training on his own for the next 11 months.

Having been thrown a lifeline by Tigers, he has grabbed it with both hands and made such an impression that, even at 38 years old, he is seen as key to the future of England's biggest club.

"I love the Leicester DNA of competitiveness, staying in the fight and being physical," said Brown.

"I owe everything to this club for giving me a chance and I want to help them win trophies." His new deal takes him up to around his 40th birthday, but the full-back-capped 72 times by England - insists he is giving no thought to how long he continues.
