JOS BUTTLER says England's white-ball winter wipeout has left him more determined than ever to lead his side to a T20 World Cup title defence next summer.

But the batting star hinted that he is considering leading England from the field and not from behind the stumps.

The limited overs winter concluded on Thursday night with a 3-2 T20 series loss against West Indies adding to the 2-1 ODI series defeat and a disastrous 50overs World Cup campaign in Australia.

But while Buttler admitted those bruises have left a mark, he maintained that the winter has hardened his resolve to carry on and get things right with a team he believes have the potential to win the T20 World Cup.

"I've had some low moments for sure. It was a huge disappointment in my career, that World Cup that's just gone," he said.
