CHEMICAL attack fugitive Adbul Ezedi jumped into the Thames and drowned just four hours after the incident, police believe.

Ezedi, 35, was wanted for pouring a corrosive alkali on his ex-partner and injuring her children, three and eight.

The last CCTV image of the convicted sex offender was on Chelsea Bridge in Central London just before 11.30pm on January 31, after the attack at 7.25pm.

But police scouring footage could find no images of him leaving the bridge.

Met Police Det Supt Rick Sewart said yesterday Ezedi had walked a route hugging the Thames, and that his behaviour changed once on the bridge.

He said the last CCTV image of Ezedi was him leaning over the railings.
