EDDIE HOWE is convinced Elliot Anderson is destined for an England call-up - even though he flogged him for just £15million last summer.
The Newcastle boss, who celebrated three years in charge yesterday, admitted that being forced to cash in on the 22-yearold still brings him out in a cold sweat.
The attacking midfielder faces his former team-mates tomorrow in top form, with his Nottingham Forest side losing only one game he has started this season. He was sold in June as Newcastle scrambled to raise cash to avoid breaching profit and sustainability rules, with a points deduction possible.
Toon developed him from the age of 13 but he was unable to fulfil his home-town dream because of Premier League financial rules.
Anderson is also eligible for Scotland but pulled out of their senior squad injured on his first call-up in September last year.
