ONE of the last Second World War "Pilots of the Caribbean" heroes had a huge send-off thanks to a media appeal.
Flight Sergeant Peter Brown died alone at home aged 96 but received an RAF military funeral following an outpouring of public support.
Yesterday's service was expected to be a low-key affair after his next of kin could not be traced.
But after publicity it was moved to 600-capacity St Clement Danes Church, in Westminster the central church of the RAF - so long-lost relatives, veterans, friends and community members could gather to give him a hero's farewell.
