His stint on I'm A Celebrity bought her a new kitchen... now DJ Jordan North's mum has her eye on an extension since he joined Capital Radio.

The former Radio 1 star started on Capital's breakfast show two months ago and says he would be happy to help his parents' dreams come true after all their support over the years.

He said: "I couldn't tell many people about the new job but I told my mum and she said, 'You've got to do it, it will be good for you.

"She's been really behind me and all the family have been. They are dead supportive and don't treat me any different when I go back home.

"They still make me take the bins out and my brothers still take the mickey out of me."

Jordan, originally from Burnley, Lancashire, admits: "I've been in London since 2018. We're in a little London bubble and I say when we come up with content and stuff, 'Would my brother find this funny? Would my mate who drives to work listening in a van find this funny?""

The 34-year-old is hosting the Capital Summertime Ball tomorrow and says he is looking forward to the party, featuring Raye, David Guetta, Perrie, Becky Hill and Sugababes.
